The US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has announced that there will be a second lottery for H-1B work visas for the financial year 2024 to reach the numerical allocations after a high number of applications were rejected. The H-1B visa programme allows US employers to temporarily employ foreign workers in occupations requiring high levels of specialization and education. The lottery is held annually, with a cap of 85,000 visas. Those with selected registrations for FY 2024 will be eligible to file H-1B cap-subject petitions.
